1. It takes longer than usual to cool off your home

When the freon levels are low, the evaporator coil becomes much colder than it is supposed to be. This causes the evaporator coil to get too cold and the liquid flows back to the refrigerant line and causes ice to build up. If you don’t fix this problem right away, it could damage the compressor, which could lead to more expensive repairs and even replacing the entire unit.
5. You hear loud/unusual noises coming from your unit
If there is a leak in your unit and refrigerant is escaping, you might hear a hissing or bubbling sound.
